This page includes more detail on how we can adjust our tours for anyone with access requirements.
We can adjust the routes and content of our standard tours, or add separate tours designed around mobility, sensory, or other access needs so everyone can enjoy Plymouth’s stories. We can shorten distances, increase rest stops, and adapt content for different ages, learning styles, and energy levels.
If you feel that you can’t attend a tour in person, we also offer live online tours, where you can explore Plymouth and interact with your guide in real time.

Our tours are sensibly paced, with some sitting stops. They have some steps and slight uphill walks.
We can adjust our routes to make them step-free and suitable for sturdy wheelchairs, pushchairs and mobility scooters.
We can factor in additional sitting stops.
We can offer separate slower tours if required.
We can’t avoid all stretches of cobbles.
We can’t avoid uphill stretches on the Plymouth: Harbour to Hoe tour.
Our tours are delivered in a clear, strong voice with a mild Plymouth accent.
Our tours have been praised for being easy to understand by people with hearing loss and who speak English as a second language.
If required, your guide will position themselves on your preferred side.
We have worked with both British Sign Language and foreign language translators and can arrange tours to accommodate this.
Our tour size is normally capped at 16 to ensure that everyone can hear the guide.
We don’t use sound systems or hearing loop on our tours.
Our tours are suitable for people with visual impairment.
We can add elements of audio description to a normal tour, but advise booking a separate audio described tour for the full experience.
Our guides cannot physically guide someone, but we may be able to arrange a volunteer guide if you contact us in advance.
